A journey through the ancient times of medieval Europe, this project was an opportunity for Fabien Nicault to explore old themes and melodies. Always influenced and imbued by the Renaissance from the region where he originates, he had always desired to blend these ancient instruments with the cold and dark sounds of samplers. This takes us on a journey through time and eras.

"Ars Veterum" is a captivating journey through the ancient times of medieval Europe, masterfully crafted by Fabien Nicault. This album blends the haunting melodies of the Renaissance with the dark, martial undertones that are characteristic of Regard Extrême's unique style. The album opens with "Ecco La Primavera," a track that immediately transports the listener to a bygone era with its evocative melodies. "Tels Rit Au Main Qui Au Soir Pleure" follows, offering a poignant contrast with its melancholic tones. "La Complainte Du Roi Renaud" and "L'irréparable" delve deeper into the emotional landscape, each piece telling a story of loss and longing. "Fleuves Clairs Et Frais" provides a refreshing interlude with its clear and flowing harmonies, while "Fortuna" brings a sense of fate and destiny to the forefront. "Estuans Intrinsecus" and "The Holy Innocents' Cemetery" are standout tracks, each with a powerful presence that lingers long after the music has ended. The album closes with "Bache, Bene Venies," a fitting end to this musical odyssey. Overall, "Ars Veterum" is a testament to Fabien Nicault's ability to blend ancient themes with modern darkwave elements, creating a timeless and immersive experience for the listener.
